As a Credit Risk Officer, you will play a vital role in assessing and managing the credit risk associated with our lending portfolio. You will be responsible for analyzing credit applications, evaluating the financial standing of borrowers, and determining appropriate risk levels. Your expertise in credit analysis and risk assessment will help mitigate potential losses and maintain the quality of our loan portfolio.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough credit analysis and appraisal of all our loan applications.
Assess the creditworthiness of borrowers by analyzing financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data. - Evaluate collateral provided by borrowers to determine its adequacy and value in relation to loan requests.
- Collaborate with the underwriting team to establish appropriate risk parameters and ensure compliance with lending policies.
- Monitor the performance of existing loans and identify early warning signs of potential credit issues.
- Review and recommend modifications to credit policies and procedures to enhance risk management processes.
- Stay updated with industry trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices in credit risk management.
- Provide regular reports on credit risk exposure, delinquencies, and portfolio performance to senior management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field.
- A master’s degree is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Credit Risk Officer or similar role within the financial services industry, preferably in secured asset finance.
- Strong knowledge of credit analysis techniques, risk assessment models, and underwriting principles.
- Familiarity with regulatory guidelines and industry best practices related to credit risk management.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial information.
- Effective communication and presentation skills to convey credit recommendations and findings.
- Proficiency in using credit risk management software and MS Office Suite.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
