Sales and Marketing Manager Sylva Food Solutions Limited

Sylva Foods Solutions Limited (SFSL) is a private limited company food processing business incorporated in 2005 that processes and distributes highly nutritious food to both urban and rural dwellers in Zambia. The company main products are soups, cereals, dried, maize meal, vegetables and fruits and canned meats. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and strategic Sales and Marketing Manager to drive our sales and marketing efforts.

Job Description:

As the Sales and Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective sales and marketing strategies to meet company objectives. Your role will involve leading a high-performing sales team, managing key accounts, and driving revenue growth. Additionally, you will oversee marketing initiatives to build brand awareness, increase market share, and support sales efforts. Reporting to the senior management team, you will play a vital role in shaping the company’s sales and marketing direction.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies aligned with company goals, focusing on revenue growth, market expansion, and customer acquisition.
  • Lead and manage the sales team, setting targets, providing guidance, and conducting performance evaluations to ensure sales objectives are met.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, identify new business opportunities, and negotiate contracts to achieve sales targets
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, competitor activities, and customer needs, leveraging insights to drive marketing and sales strategies.
  • Oversee the development of marketing campaigns, promotional activities, and branding initiatives to enhance brand awareness and drive customer engagement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, operations, and customer service, to ensure alignment and effective execution of sales and marketing plans.
  • Monitor and analyze sales and marketing performance, prepare regular reports, and present findings and recommendations to senior management.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and customer preferences to identify new opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Manage the sales and marketing budget, allocating resources effectively and tracking expenses to ensure cost efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Proven experience in sales and marketing management, preferably within FCMCG and Manufacturing sector.
  • Strong track record of driving sales growth, achieving targets, and building successful sales teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of sales and marketing strategies, market dynamics, and customer behavior.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a sales team.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with the capacity to translate insights into actionable sales and marketing plans.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, sales analytics tools, and digital marketing platforms.
  • Creativity and innovation in developing marketing campaigns and initiatives.
  • Results-oriented mindset, with a focus on achieving measurable outcomes.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
