Job Posting: Communications and Digital Marketing Specialist (Part-Time)

Common Wellbeing is seeking a talented and passionate Communications and Digital Marketing Specialist with experience in the NGO sector to join our team on a part-time basis. You will play an important role in implementing our Communications and Digital Marketing strategy, focusing on social media management and content creation. This position requires one to two days per week commitment.

Common Wellbeing is a local Zambian NGO focused on improving wellbeing in vulnerable rural communities through community health and sustainable development initiatives. We design and implement projects, provide grants, and generate learnings and research to share openly with others, all with the goal of improving the wellbeing of communities in Zambia and beyond.

Responsibilities

Communications

  • Assist the Communications Advisor (CA) in the design and execution of communications strategies to raise awareness of Common Wellbeing’s work and impact.
  • Write and edit content for website, email marketing campaigns, and presentations.
  • Collect and write field stories.
  • Conduct interviews and gather data on Common Wellbeing’s impact.
  • Ensure that communications are aligned with Common Wellbeing’s mission, values, and goals.

Social Media

  • Assist the CA in the design and execution of digital marketing campaigns to drive traffic to Common Wellbeing’s website and social media channels.
  • Collaborate with the CA to manage Common Wellbeing’s social media channels, posting engaging content that resonates with target audiences.
  • Respond to comments and questions from social media and website users.

Creative Design

  • Take and edit high-quality photos to document Common Wellbeing’s work and impact.
  • Design and produce printed materials, such as brochures, newsletters, and posters.
  • Use Canva or similar software to create graphics, social media posts, and other visual content.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in managing communications, social media platforms and implementing marketing campaigns, preferably within the NGO sector.
  • Strong knowledge of communications, digital marketing, and social media trends, best practices, and emerging platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create engaging and persuasive content.
  • Proficiency in content creation tools and platforms, such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.
  • Familiarity with social media analytics tools to track performance and derive insights.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Passion for social impact and the mission of Common Wellbeing.

Reporting:

The Communications and Digital Marketing Specialist will report to the Communications Advisor and the Executive Director. Regular meetings and updates will be required to align communications efforts with the organization’s overall Communications and Digital Marketing strategy.

Location:
This position is based at the Common Wellbeing office, with the possibility of remote work.
