Position:Finance Officer

Reports to:Country Manager – Soilid Line

Finance Manager – Dotted Line

Based in: Lusaka, Zambia

Job purpose: The Finance Officer will be responsible for all financial aspects of the business. These include managing the budget, preparing financial reports, and ensuring that all financial transactions are conducted legally and ethically.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

1. Budget monitoring & business planning

a) Monitoring expenses and revenue to ensure they are within budget.

b) Assist the leadership team in business planning and lead the forecasting and budgeting process.

c) Close to the business

2. Preparation of Financial reports

a) Preparing monthly P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash-flow statement.

b) Weekly Treasury and Accounts receivabe reports.

3. General Ledger Maintenance.

a) Accurate and timely capture of financial transactions into the General Ledger & Sub Ledgers.

b) Fixed Assets Maintenance.

4. Internal Control System

a) Ensure adherence to group policies and procedures.

 

b) Carry out monthly Balance Sheets, Bank, Supplier, Debtors, Tax accounts & Fixed assets and Stock reconciliations.

c) Implement external auditors’ recommendations.

d) Review of internal controls and suggestions for continuouss improvement.

5. Working Capital Management

a) Follow Group Otc policy and ensure the business is able to meet its obligations and excess cash is invested.

b) Get the favorable terms from suppliers.

6. Compliance

a) Ensure the company is operating within local laws.

b) Comply with tax laws.

c) Adherence to policies and procedures.

d) Follow GAAPs and IFRS.

7. System

a) Use thegroup-approvedd software for maintenance of records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related field.

• Professional qualifications: CPA / ACCA/CA

• At least 3 years experience in a similar position

• Must be a Zambia National

Job Requirements

Experiencee in the following areas;

• General Ledger accountability

• Hands-on use of an ERP preferably Sage X3

• Stakeholder engagement

• Basic understanding of GAAPs & IFRS Skills and Behaviours

• Logical thinking

• Communication and presentation

• Relationship management

• Result oriented

• Attention to detail People

a) Treat team members with respect.

b) Maintain up-to-date skills to effectively perform the role.
