DGM Beverages Limited is Zambia’s number one manufacturer of alcoholic beverages.

Our organization seeks the services of a Sales Officer to join a dynamic and proactive team.

The interested candidate will

  • Manage and lead sales team
  • Plan, monitor and control the departmental budget
  • Produces a weekly and monthly Sales and Distribution report
  • Prepares sales forecasts and draws up distribution plans. Monitors and reviews the forecast and plans daily, weekly, and monthly
  • Establish and maintain beneficial business relationships with customers and suppliers
  • Have comprehensive and up to date knowledge of all products unique selling points, features, and those of the competition
  • Liaises with the Operations Manager for production forecasts taking market demand and sales budgets into consideration
  • Implements the distribution plan basing on demand forecast
  • Monitors on premises sales
  • Ensures proper handling of payments by sales team
  • Liaises with appropriate team members to ensure that trucks are repaired or serviced on time to avoid delays for dispatch
  • Attends to customer queries
  • Appraises routes and sales performance with the view of achieving optimum vehicle utilization (including fuel) and maximum sales
  • Investigates losses to determine causes thereof and takes appropriate measures to ensure that they are kept to a minimum
  • Manages and maintains adherence to all health and safety requirements and standards within the department
  • Ensures that the cleanliness of trucks is upheld
  • Promotes staff hygiene and the use of proper protective clothing
  • To maintain an environment within Sales and Distribution that fosters equal and fair employment practices
  • To communicate effectively with subordinates
  • Maintains discipline within the department to ensure a harmonious working environment exists
  • To identify, plan and execute training for sales teams to impart necessary skills
  • Ensure all sales targets are achieved by the sales team
  • Review sales target and performance of the team on a rotational basis

The ideal candidate must possess the following qualification and skills

  • Grade 12 Certificate
  • Diploma or Degree in Marketing or Related field
  • Sober mind, self-starter physically fit, honest and team player
  • Applicants should have a valid driver’s license
  • Minimum experience of 5 years at supervisory level in FMCG Sector
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, leadership and problem-solving skills.
