What is the job about?
The Finance and Accounts Manager will report to the Finance Director and work with other members of Management and Departmental Coordinators.
The principal purpose of the Finance and Accounts department includes financial planning, reporting and controls, short and long term business strategy, investments, hedging, internal risk management, cash management, corporate finance, auditing and accounting. Your role is to ensure that all these responsibilities are met in an effective and timely manner.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Drive financial planning of the company by analyzing its performance and its risks
Financial policy and development and implementation
Retain constant awareness of the company’s financial position and act to prevent problems
Oversee the company’s finance IT systems
Oversee all audit/ internal control operations
Develop and deliver the corporate fundraising strategy (including development of grant/debt/ equity proposals
Management of relationships with partners and investors
Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a quarterly and annual basis
Conduct analysis to make forecasts and produce actionable reports
Ensure adherence to local financial laws guidelines
Develop and maintain strong internal financial control
Minimum Requirements
Have at least 6-8 years’ experience in Finance / Retail trade
In possession of a University degree equivalent in Finance or Accountancy discipline/ ACCA Finalists/CIMA Qualified/CA Zambia/ZICA Finalists
In possession of a full Grade 12 certificate (with good grades in Mathematics and English)
Proven experience as a finance team leader
In depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices
Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting
Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g Sage)
Analytical mind with a strategic ability
Able to pay attention to detail
Strong analytical skills
Vast knowledge in working with receivables
Should be a team player
Able to work under minimum supervision
Working knowledge of MS Tools including Excel and Word
Paygo and Micro Finance Experience is an added advantage
