The LUSAKA APEX MEDICAL UNIVERSITY LIMITED (LAMUL) is a privately owned Medical Education and Medical Services provider, registered and accredited by the Higher Education Authority and the Health Professionals Council of Zambia. The Lusaka Apex Medical and Diagnostic Centre is therefore looking for a mature, proactive, and highly motivated and result oriented Zambian with high degree of credibility to fill the following position:

RADIOGRAPHER- DIAGNOSTIC CENTRE

To obtain images that can aid in the diagnosis of illnesses and injuries, the creation of treatment plans, and intervention procedures.

MAIN   DUTIES

1.      Performs basic medical imaging examinations such as plain film imaging (X-ray’s), Ultra Sounds and possibly Echo procedure’s offering diagnosis to clinicians in order to ensure quality delivery of services.

2.      Performs with minimum supervision the following imaging; CT, Ultrasound (Basic Gynecology, Obstetric and Abdominal Ultrasound) and Interventional Imaging procedures.

3.      Conducts timely assessment on patients and interprets clinical questions in order to determine the most appropriate imaging technique for the patients in order to get optimal diagnostic information.

4.      Evaluate medical diagnostic images for quality.

5.      Carries out radiographic examinations ensuring the patients receive the lowest possible radiations doses without compromising on image quality.

6.      Provides regular technical updates to Radiography technologists/students in order to impart appropriate skills and knowledge.

7.      Provides training and supervision of students radiographers

8.      Assist the preparation of departmental plans and budgets in order to achieve the attainment of set objectives.

9.      Assist and participate in research in order to generate information on evidence based practice.

10.  Participate in monitoring of Utilization of departmental resources.

11.  Undertake CPD activities in line with HPCZ requirements for practice.

12.  Keep up to date with health and safety guidelines, including ionizing radiation regulations, to protect yourself and others.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Diagnostic Radiography
• Full Grade twelve 12 certificate

Work Experience and Age

• Two  years’ work experience in a Multi- Discipline Health Facility
• Should be above 25years
