Business Analyst – Oil & Energy Brilliance Executive Management Consultancy

Job Purpose
The Business Analyst will collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze business requirements, processes, and workflows. Analyze Operational and Strategic Reporting Requirements. Assessing business operational reports, identifying issues, and confirming accuracy of records and preparing impact assessments on findings. Collaborate with financial reporting to develop initiatives and strategies that optimize costs and improve internal and external reporting. The Business Analyst will also be involved in identifying areas for process improvement and recommending solutions to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

 

 

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively communicating your insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management.
  • Creating a detailed business analysis, outlining problems, opportunities and solutions for a business
  • Ensure that all statutory financial matters are timely and accurately filed/submitted to the appropriate authorities.
  • Ensure full compliance of statutory Energy Regulation board License.
  • Day to day management of the Business’ working capital as instructed by the General Manager
  • Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions.
  • Prepare analytical ratios and variance analysis on Debtors, payables, stocks, income statement, balance sheet etc and provide explanations and recommend actions. This includes but not limited to current ratio, debt to equity ratio, liquidity ratio etc.
  • Address queries from group control team in respect to accounting reports submitted.
  • Work on budget preparation, project appraisals, profitability analysis and forecasts.
  • Maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records including running of integrity checks and resolving system integrity errors.
  • Leading ongoing reviews of business processes and developing optimization strategies.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly feedback reports to management
  • Assessing business operations, identifying issues, and creating reports on findings.
  • Evaluate business and finance records and determine the level of risk
  • Identify and limit the risk associated in the operations of the business.
  • Continually monitoring reporting to ensure accuracy and highlight any issues that may arise.
  • Assist with ensuring company compliance with laws and regulations
  • Create reports and anticipate the losses of certain operational decisions
  • Leading ongoing reviews of business processes and developing optimization strategies.
  • Gathering critical information from meetings with various stakeholders and producing useful reports.

Primary Areas of Accountability:

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Accounts/Finance, Business Mathematics, Statistics or other related field
  • Full CA Zambia/ ACCA/CIMA
  • Must have a minimum of 4-6 years’ experience in Business Analysis preferably in the Oil/Energy Sector.
  • Advanced Financial Modelling technical skills.
  • Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must have Oil Marketing Business/Industry knowledge
  • Must be a member of ZICA
