Security Operations Center Analyst NetOne Zambia

POSITION PROFILE

Position: Security Operations Centre – Analyst L1/L2
Location: Lusaka, Zambia
Contract: Permanent
Probationary Period: 3 Months

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for working in a 24×7 Security Operation centre (SOC) environment.
Understanding of security concepts such as cyber-attacks and techniques, threat vectors, risk management etc.
Understanding of Incident Management and Response, handling escalations.
Conduct Threat intelligence assessment
Conduct proactive research to analyze security weaknesses and recommend appropriate strategies.
Provide analysis and trending of security log data from a large number of heterogeneous security devices
Provide threat and vulnerability analysis as well as security advisory services
Analyze and respond to previously undisclosed software and hardware vulnerabilities
Investigate, document, and report on information security issues and emerging trends
Ensure that the company knows as much as possible, as quickly as possible about security incidents
Develop technical solutions to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks
Write comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes and propositions for further system security enhancement
Undertaking any other duties/tasks (as assigned) or responsibility required to ensure the achievement of the objectives of the job within the overall objectives of NetOne Data Limited.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The following knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acquired through a combination of formal schooling, self-education, prior experience, or on-the-job training.

Any of the below certifications or equivalent certifications related to Cyber Security is preferred.
– Certified Ethical Hacker
– CompTIA Security+ or CompTIA CySA+
– Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator EC Counc
– EC Council Certified Security Analyst – EC Council

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information technology, or similar preferred.
Minimum of 2 – 4 years of experience in Cyber security
Proven work experience as a System Security Engineer or Information Security Engineer
Knowledge of various operating system flavors including but not limited to Windows, Linux, Unix
Knowledge of TCP/IP Protocols, network analysis, and network/security applications
Knowledge of common Internet protocols and applications
Knowledge about various tools like – SIEM, SSL, Packet Analysis, Network Monitoring tools, Remedy etc.
Communicate effectively by contributing significantly to the delivery reports for diverse audiences
Experience with network security and networking technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tools
Hands on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc.
Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols
Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure
A valid driving license with 2 years plus driving experience is an added advantage.
